Digli che son fedele is Cleofide's aria from Poro, Re dell'Indie. This popular opera with a libretto by Metastasio was set by a number of composers, including Hasse who used the title Cleofide. This aria was set by Storace for the Italian castrato Ferdinando Tenducci. It was performed at a concert organized by Carl Friedrich Abel at Abel's concert hall in Hanover Square, London on the 8th of May, 1782.
